About the Alcohol Ink Art Conference, FALL 2021

Fall 2020 marks our tenth alcohol ink art conference!   Our conferences are online virtual events, offering folks the ability to attend from the comfort of their own homes/studios, without travel expenses. Attendees do not have to be present while the event is happening. All presentations, materials lists and resources will be available here on the website AND in our Private Conference Attendee’s group with LIFETIME ACCESS! 

This will be a four-day event, kicking off Monday, the 6th with a LIVE Zoom “Get to Know Ya” Session.   You can watch the session on Zoom or Facebook OR better yet, join us on-screen and introduce yourself!

Each session will be presented by our superb line-up of alcohol ink artists and instructors and cover a wide variety of instruction and coaching pertaining to creating alcohol ink art.  During each session, our presenters will be available for questions and answers in real time during their session.

There will be presentations suitable for all levels of expertise. You’ll learn new alcohol ink techniques and best of all, you’ll have fun!

Who doesn’t love Halloween-inspired art? And spooky inspired paint it so much fun. In this demonstration, we will paint this wonderful “spooky tree”.

In this wonderful Fall scene, will create painting pumpkins in the loose but detailed style. We will be learning about tension in a painting to accentuate their designs.

In this alcohol in painting demonstration you’ll learn techniques for painting with alcohol ink on Grafix DuraBright synthetic paper. The subject for this demonstration is water lillies on a pond.

Creating an Abstract Landscape Using Textures

Don’t you just love texture and mixing up our mediums?  In this presentation with alcohol ink on canvas, we will create dimensional texture using a variety of mediums, coupled with rich, lucious, Fall alcohol ink colors.

Frolicking in Fall Leaves

In this presentation, we are going to have fun painting the vibrant colors of fall in layers without getting mud. We will paint on Yupo paper to take advantage of its staining quality. You may draw your own design or use the line drawing that will be provided. Let’s frolic!

Autumn Mockingbird

We will create a mockingbird with autumn foliage in the background. We will mask the bird first and after it dries we will create the background. We will use mostly alcohol inks however we will use some prisma color markers. We will create the image on NARA white paper.

Autumn Lavender

Just look at this lucious Lavender painting! In this demonstration we will be playing around with layering of detail to add dimension to our art.  We will be working with a wet into wet background using a rigid card and brush for shadows. Then, painting with alcohol inks in the foreground and lifting inks for highlights.

Abstract Florals

Using Translucent Film to Create Abstract Florals

We’ll use both sides of Grafix Film or Yupo Transparent Paper to create a flowing background and unique florals. Two different backgrounds and two different florals. A tribute to the blooms that are just starting to fade.

Metal Embossing and Alcohol Ink

In this demonstration and lesson we will be exploring the ancient art form of metal embossing. We will be embossing mandala style designs onto aluminum, then accenting with vibrant alcohol ink colors. The end result will be mounted onto cradle board.  A downloadable design pack will be provided, making this a fun and easy project!

In this alcohol ink painting demonstration, you will be using a masking technique and a light box/light pad while learning step by step how to paint an autumn -inspired owl against a night sky.
