When you first start using alcohol inks or painting with alcohol ink, you quickly learn just how uncontrollable the ink can be. If it’s too inky, it run and interact with other elements. If you want to paint representational art, you will quickly learn that you need to drop some ink in a welled pallet and let some of the alcohol evaporate from the ink. This usually takes a couple of minutes. The alcohol evaporates quickly. Once it does, you are left with a paint-light ink that you can better control.
In the following video by Sharen AK Harris, you will see how to control the ink.
